Depending on your skin customizations, your site's HOME PAGE title (the text you see in your browser tab when browsing the home page) may come from one of two different sources, so you will want to look to see if you have a Prompt (String Resource) called: title.home.page and if you do, set it to the value you also set for your Configuration - Settings - SE_MetaTitle
This will ensure that your home page title remains the desired value.
